Our House Group has been meeting regularly for a number of years now. We always begin with a time of fellowship over a shared meal which is provided by various group members - this is entirely voluntary and there is never any pressure on anyone to cook! This is followed by a period of group study based on a theme which is agreed on in advance by the members. The finish time can vary slightly if the meal takes a bit longer - we do enjoy a good chat over a plate of food!
We meet on Thursday evenings (changing to Wednesdays as from 22 October 2008) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm except for the 1st Thursday of each month when we join with Thursdays at 7 (see Useful Links page). We don't usually meet during school half terms, and during school holidays we are highly flexable.
The group consists mainly, but not exclusively, of regular church attenders. For some a House Group can be a good way of making new friends, exploring aspects of spirituality and finding out more about Christianity. A church environment can be intimidating whereas a House Group is more relaxed and informal - which makes it a "safe" place to learn about Christ and to ask questions.
